Auto-create & update your court index
  • Auto-generates a Word index from a numbered folder containing PDFs, Word documents and images
  • Captures document title, date, file number and page reference for each file
  • Updates the index in seconds as files are added, removed or renamed
  • Three index formats — 3 Col. (Bundle of Authorities), 4 Col. (Exhibits), 5 Col. (Bundle of Documents)

Malaysian EFS & EKSS / UK CE-File

Downloads the court file to your computer — then processes and renames it
  • Downloads every document filed in your cases — yours and the other side's — out of the court portal and onto your computer, for all your cases or only the ones you name
  • We are not aware of any other software that downloads directly from the Malaysian EFS portal. If you know of one, we would genuinely like to hear about it
  • The software signs in to the portal for you in the background, using the username and password you have entered, and works through your case list exactly as you would by hand — but without you sitting there doing it
  • Run it again tomorrow and it takes only what is new, so your case folders stay in step with the court file on their own
  • This is a genuine download out of the court portal, not merely a tool for preparing documents that meet e-Filing requirements — though it does that as well
  • Runs full processing pipeline on downloaded files: unlock, OCR, compress, rotate, A4, flatten, clear links
  • Places downloads into your designated local folders for each case
  • For England & Wales, compliant bundling is well served by several established products. What we have not found elsewhere is the rest of it: CE-File documents downloading themselves into your own folders, bundle page references written back into your skeleton arguments, and signed pages dropped into a finished bundle without rebuilding it
  • To be clear about the direction of travel: LHT DMS brings the court file down to you and prepares your bundle so the portal will accept it. The filing itself stays in your hands — nothing is ever submitted to a court on your behalf
  • Everything happens on your own computer, talking straight to the court's own servers. Nothing is routed through Legal Hi Tech, there is no cloud copy of your case file, and your username and password stay in your own spreadsheet on your own machine
  • Renames every downloaded file cleanly — with the enclosure number and date on Malaysian EFS, and with the filing date and sequence number on CE-File — and a date already in the document's title is not repeated

e-Filing & Bundle Compliance

Accepted the first time, not the fifth
  • Malaysian EFS — mandatory, and enforced at upload. Miss one requirement and the portal returns the bundle, which is how a filing becomes a night of adjusting and re-submitting until EFS accepts it. LHT DMS applies all of them as the bundle is compiled, in a single pass:
  • Every landscape page rotated to portrait
  • Every page rendered to A4
  • Restrictions and permissions unlocked
  • Annotations flattened into the page
  • Hyperlinks cleared
  • Held under the 50 MB ceiling — compressed to 150 DPI, and split into volumes with continuous page numbering where a single file will not fit. The threshold arrives set just under whichever ceiling applies to you: 49.5 MB for Peninsular Malaysia, 19.7 MB for Sabah & Sarawak, and 99 MB for England & Wales, where CE-File allows 100 MB per PDF in the Civil Courts (it may be 50 MB in the Family courts and some tribunals, so check your own)
  • We are not aware of any other software that produces a Malaysian EFS-compliant bundle in a single pass. That is the difference between filing at five o'clock and filing at five in the morning
  • England & Wales — the portal is permissive, the rules are not. CE-File will take almost any document, but the Judiciary's General Guidance on Electronic Court Bundles sets out what the bundle itself must look like. The same compile produces:
  • Pagination running sequentially from page 1 of the bundle, so the number stamped on the page matches the PDF page number — the mismatch judges complain about most
  • An index hyperlinked to every document it lists
  • Every document and section bookmarked, with a short description and its page number in the bookmark
  • OCR on every page of typed text that was not already text
  • Landscape pages left in landscape, so they read left to right
  • 150 DPI output, comfortably below the 300 DPI ceiling, with file size no larger than needed
  • Sabah & Sarawak — the lighter regime. EKSS CMS-A accepts a PDF up to 20 MB per file and does not impose the annotation, hyperlink and rotation restrictions that Peninsular Malaysia enforces. Bundles for those courts are prepared accordingly, with the volume-split threshold set to 19.7 MB
  • Three jurisdictions, opposing rules — and the app already knows which is yours. Peninsular Malaysian EFS requires landscape pages turned to portrait and every hyperlink stripped out. Neither restriction applies in Sabah & Sarawak, and both are the wrong thing to do for England & Wales, where a landscape page must stay landscape so it reads left to right and the index must keep the hyperlinks the Judiciary's guidance requires. So rotation and link clearing arrive switched on for Peninsular Malaysia and off for the other two, while rendering to A4 arrives on for all three — compulsory in Peninsular Malaysia, preferable though not required elsewhere. LHT DMS reads the jurisdiction your licence is registered for and sets all of it before you touch anything. Every option remains yours to override for a particular run
  • The software prepares the bundle to the portal's requirements. You upload it and you file it — LHT DMS never submits anything to a court in your name
